Because the editorial process is so different for every author, at Bluewater Publications we split our authors into three different groups. This allows us to work with the needs of our individual authors and guarantees your work gets the editorial attention it deserves. Our three groups help Bluewater authors to reach the highest editorial standard.
Track 1- Ready for Publication
The authors in Track 1 are ready to move on to the next step in the publication process. This means that you’ve probably already worked with an editor. When you submit your manuscript to us, you’ll see this question appear on the submission form. This lets us know where your work is in the publication process. If your work is edited and ready for publication it moves right along to the next step. This most likely means your manuscript will move to the layout stage.
Track 2- Copyediting – The Book Doc
Sometimes an author’s work needs a bit of extra help to reach our standard for publications. This is a normal step towards publication, it just means your book might need a bit more than simple proofreading. In this group you’ll work with one of our copyeditors to ensure grammar, punctuation, syntax, avoid minor language repetition or spelling errors. Our team of copywriters is ready to work hard for you. We offer this service at a flat hourly rate of $60/hour.
Track 3- Developmental Editing – Book Surgeon
Certain authors submit great work, but it’s in need of more than just copyediting. Bluewater Publications still greatly believes in these authors and strives to help them obtain their publishing goals. We recommend these authors work with one of our amazing developmental editors. Manuscripts that might be recommended for developmental editing might contain lack of character development, plot holes, point of view problems, character development or a lack of structure as well as making sure there are no redundancies or over-usages throughout your work. We offer this service at a flat hourly rate of $80/hour.
Proofreading
Finally, no matter what track you’ve been placed in, your manuscript will be proofread by one of the Bluewater Publications Team. Once you’re manuscript has been edited, we carefully proofread each page to make sure the laid out design is professional and error free. Because we proofread each piece after it’s been through layout we are able to check for formatting problems and for other punctuation and grammar errors that might still remain. The standard for each Bluewater manuscript is a professional looking, error-free book.
